Abstract

So as to assess the gender participation in livestock stock management in Balochistan this research was carried out. Kalat district has been selected by using the random sampling. One-hundred sample sizes or livestock farmers were taken. Findings depicted that majority (78%) of the livestock respondents were illiterate. Majority (76%) of the respondents have 6 to 10 family members. Vast majority (89%) of the respondents have combine family system. Majority (66%) of livestock respondents earned 45,000 rupees per month. Majority (48%) of livestock respondents have up to 5 hec. More than half (59%) of livestock respondents were small ruminants. Government of Balochistan, in collaboration with international partners, has actively prioritized the empowerment of females through job creation and entrepreneurial support in the livestock sector to reduce male dependency.
